Tabitha Stapely was nominated as a Women of Inspiration in Pioneers Post’s Natwest Wise100 in 2020.
Pioneers Post’s Wise100 list recognises the one hundred top ‘Women of Inspiration’ in the UK working in social enterprises.
This year, it highlighted the women who continued on their mission to deliver a positive impact despite the exceptional and challenging circumstances. “The stories of these leaders who have shown agility, resilience and adaptability over the last few months will inspire many on their path towards rebuild and recovery.”
“At a time when many of our current and future revenue streams had ceased, we re-doubled our efforts to ensure we would continue publishing Roman Road LDN there when our community needed us most.” says Stapely.
Overnight Roman Road LDN changed its content strategy and launched a Covid Help Hub on the website sharing essential information to local people about which shops and services were still open, how to help neighbours and how to look after themselves during lockdown.
Roman Road LDN’s Twitter feed was turned into a Covid News Service and Instagram’s feed was used as a soothing place of nostalgia and escapism at a time when no-one could leave their homes.
“The uptake in engagement with Roman Road LDN, especially in our social media communtiies, was extraordinary.” says Stapely. “This demonstrated clearly how much our readers were relying on us for calm, supportive and accurate local information.”
Roman Road LDN’s Twitter Mentions increased by 75% from February to March. Our Instagram activity during lockdown was up 32% from the previous six months. The Local Business Information page on our online Covid Hub was consistently the highest rating post on Roman Road LDN‘s website throughout April and May.
In response to requests from local businesses during lockdown Roman Road LDN is now launching an affordable marketing support service for local organisations, which will help them promote their services as they get back on their feet after lockdown.
